The United States celebrates 100 years of the Extension Service in 2014. One Hundred years have passed since the Smith-Lever Act, responsible for the creation of Extension Service. In Henry County Extension and 4-H started in 1925 serving thousands of citizens ever since.

The “Better Farming Special”

The “Better Farming Special”

In 1912 an eight car Extension Demonstration train pulled out of Lexington.
One car was dedicated to Domestic Science.
Over 29 days it covered 2,453 miles, made 108 stops and reached 70,000 Kentuckians.
